Walking tour from Los Cristianos Port to Las Américas

From Los Cristianos to Las Américas

The municipality of Arona, in the south of Tenerife, provides a wide variety of leisure options so visitors can enjoy its pleasant climate all year round. Playa de Las Américas, which can be reached on foot in about twenty minutes from Los Cristianos Port, is one of the most popular beaches and is a good option for people arriving on a cruise who would like to discover part of this enclave of the Canary Islands on their own. On this visit, you can discover the fine sands of Arona, go on a spree in the shops and centres near the coast, and try delicious Canaries cuisine around Las Américas or Los Cristianos Port.

Walk from the boat and take a break at El Camisón

El Camisón, located in the municipality of Arona in the south of Tenerife and a few minutes from Los Cristianos Port, is an urban beach with golden sand that is protected from waves by two breakwaters. The swimming conditions make it perfect for children and adults, besides having all the essential services such as showers, bins, a cleaning service, telephones, bars and restaurants, and lounger and sunshade rental. On El Camisón Beach, you can sunbathe comfortably, take a refreshing dip in the Atlantic Ocean or enjoy the sporting activities available on the beach.

Sports and walking in Las Américas from the cruise liner

A few minutes' walk from El Camisón and about 20 minutes from Los Cristianos Port is Las Américas Beach or, as it is popularly known, Las Américas – one of the most important tourist spots in the south of Tenerife, which stands out due to its open and cosmopolitan nature and, especially, on account of the immense range of shopping and leisure options available. Here, you can walk, ride a bike or skate along the Francisco Andrade Fumero Seafront Promenade, sit and watch the surfers at the beach or discover the sculptures to be found along the promenade. If you get the chance, see the sunset – one of the most spectacular on the island.

The best shopping route near the cruise liner

There is nowhere better than the Avenida de Las Américas for going shopping, also know as La Milla de Oro (the golden mile) due to the variety of prestigious boutiques where you will find the most famous international labels and brands. We suggest a spree in an urban environment —ideal for going shop to shop— starting with Avenida Rafael Puig and continuing on to the centres on the Avenida de Las Américas. There are also terraces where you have a gastronomy break to get your strength back between purchases and lots of green areas where you can take peaceful walks to continue with your day of tourism in this area in the south of Tenerife.

Going back to the boat through Los Cristianos

After the beach and shopping, we're sure you'll want a bite to eat or a drink before going back to the boat. Around the pier in Los Cristianos, you'll find a wide variety of restaurants where you can try typical dishes from Canary Islands cuisine (remember that wrinkly potatoes with spicy mojo sauce is one of the most popular dishes in all of Spain). Facing Los Cristianos Beach and in a charming seafaring atmosphere, you will enjoy cuisine with sea views in a friendly environment. You will also find small establishments where you can do some last-minute shopping.
