The different island

To step foot on Lanzarote is to discover a volcanic landscape so beautiful that it is impossible not be moved by it. The entire territory of the island has been declared a biosphere reserve and the Timanfaya National Park is a special highlight – a sample of the beauty of nature its purest state and a must-see. But, if Lanzarote is a volcano, peace and silence, it is also art. The fabulous work of César Manrique, a universal native of Lanzarote, pervades the entire island. His view is reflected in the architecture of its villages and homesteads but also in the different centres that carry his name and offer a unique experience due to their originality and worth. The beaches of Lanzarote —with their white sand and turquoise water— are also exceptional. And the capital city, Arrecife, next to the port, with its shops, cafés and lively local life. What's difficult is choosing between them all.
